Even if the weather is poor there is always something to do to keep you all busy. On a warm day however the beaches are great fun for everyone regardless of age, no-one ever gets to old to make a sandcastle! Perhaps a stroll down the beach or if you want to relax just lie back and enjoy the sun.
Just along the coast from Bridlington is Flamborough, famous for its protruding cliff edges that go out miles into the sea. Here you will find a nesting site of puffins and guillamots although the best place to catch them a little bit closer is at the RSPB reserve in Bempton.
If walking holidays are more your thing then why not visit the Yorkshire Wolds? The Wolds walkway is well known to be one of the longest in the world starting from Humber Bridge and ending at Filey Brigg. Whilst travelling along the Wolds you will come across many small villages or hamlets full of character and history and hopefully a place for you to have a nice cup of tea and sample some old fashioned Yorkshire accommodation.
Whitby is known as the home of Bram Stokers Dracula! What its also home to is the finest fish and chips in the whole of Yorkshire, with most of it being caught in Whitby harbour. If you are looking to go fishing or would just like to take a cruise this is possible in a speed boat, trips taking approximately an hour and are reasonably cheap
