Affiliate Marketing and Why People Hate Them by Ellis Jackson Jr As we search across the internet we see all kinds of ads for all kinds of products, but who is doing the selling? Sometimes you can tell that it is not the original owner who is advertising the product. The product is being sold by an affiliate. An affiliate is someone who takes on the the responsiblities of advertising someone elses product for a piece of the commission. Unfortunately people seem to have problems buying from the affiliate's site. But Why? Weather you buy from the main website or an affiliate you get the exact same money back guarantee, product, and service that you signed and payed for. The only thing different is that both the owner and affiliate share the commission. If you skip the affiliate and go the the main website that means that the owner of that site has benefited from the affiliate's advertising and does not have to share any commission. The owner gets rich and the affiliate goes broke. For some people this seems to make them happy knowing that they just got one over on the affiliate. What people may not realize is that with so many job losses out their lately more and more people are turning to a home business to help make up the difference in their lost salaries. An affiliate program can be a good source to accomplish this. There are so many companies looking for good sales people now and this could be an opportunity for you to generate a second income or even replace you current job. Businesses know how hard it is to advertise and some will pay you as much as 70% of the commision to help promote their product. They know that to be successful they need to get advertising to as many people as they can. When you buy from the affiliate, that tells the business that this works and encourages them to sign up more for free. Think about this, if you work hard and spend your own money advertising then you should get payed for all of your work, right? You wouldn't want to see the owner make the money while you make none. The problem has gotten so bad that you can find plenty of products that can cloak a person's affiliate link so you think you are buying from the owner. Affiliate cloaking has been around for a while now and chances are that you have bought a product from one and didn't know it. It shouldn't have to be that way but that is the world we are living in today. In summary, nobody is saying that you have to buy the product that you see but if you do, don't be so concerned about whether the link is an affiliate or not. No matter what, if you buy a $40 product its going to cost the same as if you bought it from the owner anyway.
